Home Visits

Doctor's bagIf possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

Please make every effort to come to the surgery if you can. Home visits should only be requested when you cannot visit the surgery for medical reasons. Not having transport is not an adequate reason for requesting a home visit. Please contact a friend, neighbour or relative to assist you. We undertake to cooperate with you and will see you as soon as possible if you visit the surgery, under these circumstances.

Arrangements can sometimes be made for poorly patients to be seen at the surgery outside surgery times without making them wait. Please phone the receptionist and provide full details to help us to assess your condition and arrange an appropriate consultation at the surgery in these circumstances.

Sometimes it may be possible for the GP to speak to you on the phone, assess your condition and give you the appropriate advice to make your visit to the surgery or his visit to your home unnecessary.

Remember that only the doctor can decide on whether a home visit is required. Do therefore provide the doctor with as much information as you can
